Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti is Tanzania's best-known park, and its name comes from the Maasai word "siringet", meaning the place where the land runs on forever. Every year more than 1.5 million wildebeest, together with hundreds of thousands of zebra, travel in a great circle through the ecosystem, following the rain and fresh grass. Many people call it the greatest wildlife show on earth.

The migration is only part of the story. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants and the rest of the Big Five live here all year, across about 14,750 square kilometers of grassland, acacia woodland and river forest. With more than 13 years of guiding in the Serengeti, our team knows where to look in every season.
