Overview
This eight-day safari spends four nights in the Serengeti, staying in tented bush camps away from the busiest areas, together with Tarangire and a day in the Ngorongoro Crater.
More time in quieter parts of the park means sightings can take a little longer to find, but you usually have them to yourselves when you do. It is ideal for travelers who have already done a classic safari and want something more immersive. Contact us for details.

Day by Day (8 days)
ARRIVAL IN ARUSHA
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport at any time and transfer to Arusha. The rest of the day is free to rest, relax by the pool or explore the town.
Overnight at Masailand Safari Lodge with dinner and breakfast included.
TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast and a safari briefing, you leave for Tarangire National Park, arriving in time for lunch. The afternoon is spent on your first game drive across the park's wide landscapes, followed by dinner at your lodge.

OLDUVAI GORGE AND INTO THE SERENGETI
You head for the Serengeti, with the chance to visit Olduvai Gorge, where Louis and Mary Leakey made landmark discoveries about early humans in the 1950s.

SERENGETI GAME DRIVE
A full day in the park, starting early. Your guide chooses the best areas for the season, perhaps the hippo pool, a big lion pride or the middle of the migration.

SERENGETI GAME DRIVE
Depending on the season and the herds, you may see wildebeest, lion, elephant, giraffe, zebra, monkeys, baboons, hippo, rhino, antelope and many kinds of birds.

FULL DAY FOLLOWING THE HERDS
With a packed lunch you spend the day on game drives, following the migration, which can form a line of about 40 km heading south-west, with a lunch stop around midday.

NGORONGORO CRATER
You descend more than 600 m to the crater floor to explore forest patches with monkeys and elephants, the lake where flamingos gather and the grassland where lions hunt. Lunch is a picnic in the crater before you continue to Arusha.

DEPARTURE
Around lunchtime you are driven to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your evening flight.
