Overview
This nine-day safari starts in Mwanza and combines the migrating herds of the Serengeti with the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara, giving you a wide view of northern Tanzania rather than a single park.
Nine days means real time in each place. The Serengeti days are planned around the migration where possible, while Ngorongoro and Manyara add crater wildlife and a change of scenery with forest and lakeshore. Contact us for departure dates.

Day by Day (9 days)
ARRIVAL IN MWANZA
On arrival our driver-guide meets you and takes you to your lodge in Mwanza, where the rest of the day is free.

MWANZA TO THE CENTRAL SERENGETI
After breakfast you drive into the Serengeti from the west, game viewing along the way. After a picnic lunch you explore the central Serengeti around Seronera or follow the migration.

FULL DAY IN THE SERENGETI
Depending on the season and the herds' movements, you may see wildebeest, lion, elephant, giraffe, zebra, monkeys, baboons, hippo, rhino, antelope and a great variety of birds.

FOLLOWING THE HERDS
With a packed lunch you spend the whole day on game drives. The migration can stretch in a line of about 40 km heading south-west, and some 1.3 million wildebeest, 250,000 gazelle and 200,000 zebra share these short-grass plains.

SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO VIA OLDUVAI
After an early game drive you head for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a picnic lunch on the way, stopping at Olduvai Gorge, where Louis and Mary Leakey found some of the earliest known human remains.

NGORONGORO CRATER FLOOR
You descend more than 600 m to the crater floor to explore forest patches home to monkeys and elephants, the soda lake where flamingos gather and the grassland where lions hunt. Lunch is a picnic inside the crater.

LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast you drive to the green, scenic Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive, with a picnic lunch in the park around 1 pm.

TRANSFER TO KIA LODGE
You drive to KIA Lodge near Kilimanjaro International Airport, with bungalows set in gardens and views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Relax by the pool or on your veranda. A late buffet dinner is available for guests arriving late.

DEPARTURE
After breakfast, a private transfer takes you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight.
