Overview
If you only have five days total but want both a safari and a beach stop before flying home, this trip splits the time: four days on safari across the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, then one day in Zanzibar to unwind before your flight out. It's a compact way to get a taste of both without adding a lot of extra travel days.
The safari portion covers two of northern Tanzania's best-known parks, and the Zanzibar day is really just time to relax on the beach or wander Stone Town before heading to the airport. SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Morning: Early morning game drive in the Serengeti to spot the Big Five and other wildlife.
Afternoon: Continue exploring the Serengeti with another game drive.
Evening: Overnight at a lodge or campsite in the Serengeti.
NGORONGORO CRATER
Morning: Depart for Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Afternoon: Descend into the crater for a game drive and picnic lunch.
Evening: Overnight at a lodge or campsite on the crater rim.
NGORONGORO CRATER AND TRANSFER TO ZANZIBAR
Morning: Enjoy a final game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater.
Afternoon: Drive back to Arusha and catch a flight to Zanzibar.
Evening: Arrive in Zanzibar and transfer to your hotel.
ZANZIBAR EXPLORATION
Morning: Explore Stone Town, the historic and cultural heart of Zanzibar.
Afternoon: Relax on the beautiful beaches or engage in water activities like snorkeling or diving.
Evening: Enjoy a sunset dinner by the beach before departing.
