Itinerary Description By Day
Day 1: Transfer From Kilimanjaro Airport To Moshi
Travel time: 45 min
Distance: 30.5 km
Get picked up at the airport upon arrival by a representative and transfer to the booked hotel. Get a short tour briefing for the next day. Have dinner and sleep at the hotel.
Day 2: Machame Gate (1,490 m) To Machame Camp (2,980 m)
Distance: 11 km / 7 miles
Trekking time: 5-7 hours
Zone: Rainforest
Drive to Machame gate for registration formalities. After completing the entrance formalities, start climbing through the dense rainforest to reach Machame Camp in the evening. Overnight stay at the camp.
Day 3: Machame Camp (2,980 m) To Shira Camp (3,840 m)
Distance: 5 km / 3 miles
Trekking time: 4-6 hours
Zone: Heath
After an early breakfast, start climbing leaving the rain forest and entering the heathland moorland vegetation. The trail passes over a rocky ridge onto the Shira plateau leading to Shira Camp. Upon arrival have a cup of tea while dinner is prepared. Dinner and sleep at the camp.
Day 4: Shira Camp (3,840 m) To Lava Tower (4,630) To Barranco Camp (3,970 m)
Distance: 10 km / 6.2 miles
Trekking time: 6-8 hours
Zone: Alpine desert
Leave shortly after breakfast through the moorland environment and enter the semi-desert and rocky landscape. The trail leads to Lava Tower where you will have lunch at the rock formation. Start descending down to Barranco Camp through the beautiful Senecio Forest for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Barranco Camp (3,970 m) To Karanga Camp (3,995 m)
Distance: 5 km / 3 miles
Trekking time: 4-5 hours
Zone: Alpine desert
Start by descending into a ravine to the base of the Great Barranco Wall to climb the 900 ft cliff. Cross a series of hills and valleys into Karanga Valley. The trail leads to Karanga Camp for a hot meal and sleep. The day is meant for acclimatization.
Day 6: Karanga Camp (3,995 m) To Barafu Camp (4,600 m)
Distance: 4 km / 2 miles
Trekking time: 4-5 hours
Zone: Alpine desert
Leave Karanga camp following the path intersecting the Mweka trail. Continue trekking through the rocky section to reach Barafu Camp. Have an early dinner and get a briefing on the summit ascent by the guide. Retire to bed by 19:00 to prepare yourself for the final step.
Day 7: Barafu Camp (4,600 m) To Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) To Mweka Camp (3,100 m)
Distance: 18 km / 11.2 miles
Trekking time: 13- 15hours
Zone: Stone scree and ice-capped summit
Wake up at 23:00 for adding more warm clothes and a cup of hot coffee. Start trekking around midnight for the physically challenging final part. The trail leads to Stella Point (5685m), located on the crater rim arriving at sunrise. Continue for a 2-hour hike to reach Uhuru peak (The roof of Africa). Take some pictures and refreshments at the summit feeling accomplished.
Start descending down to Mweka hut for hot dinner and good sleep.
Day 8: Mweka Camp (3,100 m) To Mweka Gate to Arusha (1,980 m)
Distance: 10 km / 6 miles
Trekking time: 3-4 hours
Zone: Rainforest
On this last day, descend to Mweka gate for awards. Hikers who reached Stella point receive green certificates while those who reached Uhuru peak receive golden certificates. It’s the time to tip your guides, cookers and porters according to your satisfaction. Drive back to the booked hotel in Arusha for a good bath and much sleep.

Day 9: Lake Manyara National Park
Pick up from Arusha Airport at around 11.00 am, and drive for about 1.5 hours to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its green scenery, varied birdlife, tree-climbing lions, hippos, and baboons. Dinner and overnight will take place on top of the Great Rift Valley, overlooking Lake Manyara. Dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Tree Lodge (Half board)
Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater
A full day in the Ngorongoro Crater. There is a very high possibility of spotting the big 5 in one day: lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and leopard. Lunch will take place at the picnic site at the crater floor. Then drive to Eileen’s Tree lodge in Karatu just outside of Ngorongoro Park (Half board)
Day 11: Tarangire National Park
Early breakfast and a 45minutes transfer to Tarangire National Park. This park is often referred to as the “home of elephants”, you have a great chance to spot elephants in large groups gathering around the Tarangire River. Other animals to be spotted include leopards, lions, giraffes, and even tree-climbing pythons! Game drive until late afternoon, then 1.5 hours drive back to Moshi or Airport

Day 12: Arrive at Zanzibar airport, pick up, and transfer to Kendwa beach resort located to the north. The itinerary briefing is to be provided and our unique gifts may also be given out.

Day 13: Zanzibar full-day excursion
Early morning trip tour in the North of the island for Dolphin watching. You may choose to swim with them as others do. Upon returning south we will have time for lunch on the beach and a beach walk.

Day 14: Zanzibar full-day excursion
Kendwa beach is the perfect place to unwind with a good book and a glass of your favorite beverage. This is also a haven for underwater lovers as you can also enjoy a day of snorkeling or scuba diving. Indeed, a place to relax for all types of travelers. Lodging: Kendwa Rock Beach Resort
Day 15: Zanzibar full-day excursion – Kendwa Rock
After breakfast, you will go on a guided tour of stone town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience tracing the footsteps of Arab Sultans on Zanzibar and ponder on the interesting historical sites and labyrinths. See actual Zanzibar doors famous for their unique architectural tradition. After lunch, we will proceed on a tour of the countryside to the spice plantations. This place has a rich history and you will be welcomed by the rich aroma of spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon. In the evening, we will head to Stone Town city western coast of Zanzibar to Lodging: Tembo Hotel or Equivalent
Day 16: Zanzibar free morning
On your last day after shopping enjoys the rest of your stay by relaxing in the pool or in the beach while taking in as much sunshine as you can. Have a hefty breakfast and don’t forget to stroll along the white sands of Kendwa ??? and take photos of your loved ones. In the afternoon, around 14:00 we will take you to the airport for your onward destination.
