Zanzibar During AFCON 2027: Beach Days Between Matches

Zanzibar has one of the most relaxed AFCON 2027 roles, with matches close to the island's beaches, spice farms and the old lanes of Stone Town. If your tickets bring you here instead of Dar es Salaam or Arusha, you are in the perfect place to fill the gaps between games.

A match week on the island

Zanzibar is small, so you are rarely more than an hour or two from a stadium. You don't have to choose between football and a holiday:

• A spice tour or a walk around Stone Town on a day without a game.
• An afternoon on the beach at Nungwi or Paje before an evening kick-off.
• A full-day snorkeling trip with Safari Blue on a free day.

Adding the mainland

Short domestic flights link Zanzibar with Arusha and the Serengeti. If you have games in more than one city, plan the mainland safari first and the island second, or the other way round, rather than flying back and forth. Our Zanzibar guide has more ideas.
