Planning a Trip Around AFCON 2027? Here's How to Combine Football and a Tanzania Safari

If you already have AFCON 2027 tickets for matches in Tanzania, the football part of your trip is fixed. Everything around it is up to you, and with the tournament running over several weeks in mid-2027 across Dar es Salaam, Arusha and Zanzibar, there is plenty of room to turn it into a real Tanzania holiday.

Start with your match dates

The best trips begin with the fixed points, your match city and dates, and build out from there. After that, the safari depends on how many spare days you have and where you are flying in from.

Three ways to plan it

• Short add-on: two or three nights around Tarangire or Ngorongoro before or after an Arusha match, enough for a few great game drives.
• Full safari: a week or more across the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire, with your matches as highlights within a bigger trip.
• Split trip: a mainland safari, then a short flight to Zanzibar for beach days and any games there.

What to book first

Flights and match tickets come first. Then book accommodation early, because a three-country tournament will bring many more visitors than a normal June or July. The safari is the most flexible part, and we can shape it around whatever you have already booked.
